Jin Mu Dan (Golden Peony)
Jin Mu Dan (Golden Peony)
Our Jin Mu Dan (Golden Peony) Tea is sourced directly from the same tea farmer in Wuyi Mountain Reserve who makes our Wuyi Yancha Oolong Tea. These long, dark, and twisted oolong tea leaves were harvested in May 2021, and hand processed in very small batches. Carefully roasted to a medium level by the farmer, the Jin Mu Dan releases a deep roasted scent, raisins, sweet floral notes and sour fruitiness. It can be steeped 6 - 8 times in a Gaiwan vessel with 6 - 8 grams of tea leaves.
The focal point of this tea is its bright fruitiness. It becomes brighter as you brew it, producing a balanced brew with notes of dark charcoal mineral, floral sweetness, mandarin zest, and underripe strawberries. The puckering tartness of the young fruit persists in the finish of the tea, perfuming the mouth and encouraging salivation. This full-bodied, vibrant Yan Cha will invigorate you whenever you drink it.
