Gua Feng Zhai is a village in the Yi Wu Mountain region. The tea trees in this area grow wild in a forest surrounded by wild plants and animals with minimal human intervention. This tea forest grows at around 1500 - 1600 meters. The material of this tea comes from spring Qiao Mu. While Gu Shu material is from tea trees that are about 100 years old or older, Qiao Mu material comes from trees that are in the 40 - 60 years old range. The fresh leaves were handpicked around April 2020 and pressed into cakes in September 2020.
Thanks to the advantages of growing deep in the forest and absorbing the surrounding fragrances, the dry leaves of our Gua Feng Zhai give off a fresh, vegetal aroma. As you brew them, the scent becomes creamy with hints of fruit. The flavor is floral and sweet. This 2016 Gua Feng Zhai has a long-lasting fragrance and noticeable hui gan. Because of its minimal bitterness, this tea is suitable for tea drinkers who are new to sheng puerh.
