2020 Autumn Bai Hua Tan

2020 Autumn Bai Hua Tan

from $3.00

Bai Hua Tan is a small village in the Yi Wu Mountain region. "Bai Hua" means "hundreds of flowers" in Chinese, and "Tan'' means  “pond” in Chinese. The name of this tea hints at the tea tree's surrounding environment. The tea trees grow in a deep forest and are preserved by government regulations. There is minimal human intervention in this area due to the remote location and rules set by the country. The trees grow at an approximate altitude of 1600 meters and tea trees are about 100 years old. The fresh leaves were picked around October 2020, and it was pressed into cakes in Jan 2021.

We intentionally chose to offer autumn-picked tea because it has all the desirable traits of tea from this area at a more affordable price. If it is a popular selection, we will consider offering spring teas from the same area!

The aroma of our 2020 Autumn Bai Hua Tang is fruity, floral, and complex. The taste is balanced – not overly sweet or bitter. It is easy to drink and stays consistent over many infusions. We especially like the complex mouth and body sensations of this tea. For the best experience, we highly recommend not drinking this tea on an empty stomach!
