This delicate and classic Si Ting shape teapot was handmade in Yixing using a mixture of original Yixing Ben Shan Lv Ni clay. “Ben Shan” indicates its mining location in Huang Long Shan (Yellow Dragon Mountain), and “Lv Ni” means “green clay”. It features a neat and curvy body and a pagoda-like top, and its small size makes it easy and comfortable to hold in hand. The teapot appears light pear in color.

Unlike Zini clay which is high in iron components, Ben Shan Lv Ni clay is high in titanium components. The nature of this clay is more tender, and it requires lower firing temperature. Its dual porosity structure makes it good for air convection when brewing tea. As you use it, oils from your tea moisturize the pot, which can in turn season it and enhances the flavor of the tea that you use it with over time. For this reason, we recommend dedicating your new Yixing teapot to one type of tea only. Particularly for Ben Shan Lv Ni clay teapot, we highly recommend you to dedicate it to light or medium roast Oolong tea such as Tie Guan Yin, lightly fermented tea, green tea, white tea, etc.

Never wash it with soap or anything else besides water.
