Handmade Ju Rui Zhu Ni Clay Teapot

Handmade Ju Rui Zhu Ni Clay Teapot

$160.00

This teapot is meticulously handcrafted by a skilled artisan in Yixing, China, using authentic zhu ni clay. The name "Ju Rui" translates to chrysanthemum bud in Chinese, and the teapot's design draws inspiration from this delicate flower. What captivates us is its petite size, the smooth texture of the clay, and the enchanting, flower-like shape that adorns this teapot.

The Zhuni teapot makes the taste of tea soft and smooth, and the flavor is very long-lasting. The texture of the clay is ultra-smooth. The body is round, allowing your big tea leaves to dance freely. We especially like the details of the bamboo leaves on the body and the ultra-smooth texture of the clay. The teapot's six sides pear shape design makes it look neat and elegant. It comes with a built-in wall filter. It pours smoothly and cuts water like a dream.

Zhuni clay contains extremely fine particles; therefore it is very sticky and elastic. It also has two distinct characteristics:

1. Clay is rich in iron

2. Clay contains less percentage of zinc, copper, or magnesium.

Zisha (紫砂) clay from Yixing is highly valued because of the porous nature of the clay. As you use it, oils from your tea moisturize the pot, which can season it and enhance the flavor of the tea that you use it with over time. For this reason, we recommend dedicating your new Yixing teapot to one type of tea only, such as ripe puer, raw puer, oolong, black tea, etc, and never wash it with soap or anything else besides water.

Additional Information:

It’s food safe, of course. I strongly recommend that you wash it only with water, and use it gently. Please do not use soap to wash or rinse your pot because it might also absorb the scent from the soap. You can also use a bamboo handle brush to gently wipe away excess water during and after using any porous clay pots (Yixing, Jianshui) to help ensure it develops an even finish.
