This square tea tray was handmade by a potter in Jingdezhen, China, and features a beige glazed ceramic base with a copper top. The holes and organic edge were inspired by the patterns of a bug-bitten aged tree. The unique oil slick finish on the copper is created with fire. It has a nice weight which provides a solid foundation for your gaiwan or teapot. We especially like the unique finish, square shape, and beige glaze of this tea tray.

Please note: Scratches on copper are common due to the polishing process and the nature of the material. Since each copper top is hand-scratched, the one you receive may not look exactly like the photographed one. Please don’t worry about the scratches—the copper will naturally oxidize over time, and as it does, the scratches will become much less noticeable.

To help with the process, you can soak the copper top in used tea liquid. The tea will help moisturize the surface and lessen the appearance of the scratches. Trust us, the scratches are very shallow and will gradually disappear over time.
