2019 Old Tree Dragon Ball Black Tea
2019 Old Tree Dragon Ball Black Tea
Our old tree dragon balls black tea was hand-rolled and pressed in Gu Muo village (also known as “古墨 Gu Mo” in Chinese) in Yunnan, China. The tea plantation sits at an elevation of about 2000 meters where the naturally preserved tea trees have been thriving for over 100 years.
The dry tea ball has a delicate, sweet, milk chocolate, and floral aroma. The first few infusions present a warm rose and milk chocolate fragrance, followed by a darker woody and nutty finish. When the tea ball has completely opened up (3rd or 4th steeping), the rich body of the tea is revealed: the floral and honey fragrance greets your nose; the texture is thick and silky; the sweet woody and nutty flavors warm and delight your taste buds; followed by a smooth and sweet lingering aftertaste. One dragon ball can pretty much keep you steeped with tea for a full day!
Suggested Brewing:
No rinsing is required. The whole ball of tea is suggested to put into your gaiwan (100 - 110 ml). First steep with boiling hot water (100℃/ 212℉) for 10 - 15 seconds to allow the tea ball to open. After the tea leaves are fully scattered/opened (3rd or 4th brewing), steep for 3 - 6 seconds according to your preference. Cooler temperature allows the more floral and sweet notes to come through. It can be steeped 10 - 13 times in a gaiwan vessel.
