Soda Firing Tea Jar
Soda Firing Tea Jar
Handmade in Jingdezhen, China, these tea jars were glazed on the outside before firing. The interior is not glazed. During the firing, soda is added resulting in a unique texture, pattern, and color. We particularly like the rustic finish of these tea jars.
Traditional wood-fired kilns have become rare in China today. The laborious process of wood-firing creates a unique, natural glazing, that can’t be achieved in more common and easier to use electric kilns. The special texture, color, and pattern of wood-fired teaware is a result of direct exposure to fire and ash over a long period, making wood-fired teaware some of the most sought-after teaware today.
We particularly like the small size of these tea jars. They fit perfectly on a tea tray, and save a lot of space on your tea table.

Additional Information:
It’s food safe, of course. And also dishwasher safe. However, I strongly recommend that you wash and dry it by hand, and use it gently. Please do not use on an open flame, gas or electric stove-top. And try to avoid alternating hot and cold, which could cause cracking.
