Hand-painted Woodfire Waterfall Teacup

Hand-painted Woodfire Waterfall Teacup
Handmade and painted by a potter in Jingdezhen, China. This teacup features a natural grey and orange glaze. The grey glaze appears glossy, and the orange glaze appears matte.
Traditional wood-fired kilns have become rare in China today. The laborious process of wood-firing creates a unique, natural glazing, that can’t be achieved in more common and easier to use electric kilns. The special texture, color, and pattern of wood-fired teaware is a result of direct exposure to fire and ash over a long period, making wood-fired teaware some of the most sought-after teaware today.
