Traditional Great Fortunate Gongfu Gaiwan Set
Traditional Great Fortunate Gongfu Gaiwan Set
Hand-painted by an artist from Jingdezhen, China, this thin porcelain gaiwan was created during the 90s. We particularly like the traditional qing hua styled clouds and characters of "福" (great fortune) on this gaiwan. The Chinese word for bat is "fú" which is pronounced the same as good fortune, and that's why you see multiple bats on this set.
You might notice a few rough strokes or uneven spots on closer inspection. Given the years that this gaiwan had been through, it’s probably not the most delicate qing hua you’ve seen. However, when we learned how few gaiwans from this time period were available, we decided to stock as many as we could. It’s perfect for people with small hands and prefers a smaller gaiwan for gongfu-style brewing. This whole set comes with a gaiwan and three matching teacups.

Additional Information:
It’s food safe, of course. And dishwasher safe. However, I strongly recommend that you wash and dry it by hand, and use it gently. Please do not use on an open flame, gas or electric stove-top. And try to avoid alternating hot and cold, which could cause cracking.
