Black Hand-painted Red Peony Flower Tea Tray
This tea tray was handmade and hand-painted by Meng Lin, the potter who creates a series of cranes and flower-themed teaware in Jingdezhen, China (feel free to check out all of her creations here). Fits a gaiwan or a teapot.
In China, peonies are known as the “king of flowers” (花中之王). Peonies’ large petals are interconnected to happiness and prosperity, hence why artists love to draw them in traditional Chinese ink paintings. The characters “繁花似锦” can be translated to “these rich and blooming flowers represents a flourishing scene of prosperity”.

Additional Information:
It’s food safe, of course. And also dishwasher safe. However, I strongly recommend that you wash and dry it by hand, and use it gently. Please do not use on an open flame, gas or electric stove-top. And try to avoid alternating hot and cold, which could cause cracking.
