Handmade Calligraphy Baini Clay Charcoal Stove
Handmade Calligraphy Baini Clay Charcoal Stove
Handcrafted by a pottery studio in Chaozhou, Guangdong, China, specializing in gongfu-style teaware, this clay stove is made from baini (white) clay and features hand-carved calligraphy of a poem about hosting friends with tea on a winter night. We love the neutral beige clay color and rustic texture, which lend it timeless charm.
To use it, simply add charcoal to the removable top, with the bottom space allowing for proper airflow. Boiling water using a charcoal stove has the remarkable effect of softening the water and enhancing its sweetness. If you've never experienced the pleasure of using a charcoal stove, you're missing out on a significant aspect of the joy of brewing tea using traditional methods. It may require a bit of practice to master charcoal burning and takes a bit longer to boil water, but you'll be amazed by how this method alters the taste and texture of your tea.

It’s food safe, of course. And also dishwasher safe. However, I strongly recommend that you wash and dry it by hand, and use it gently. It’s suitable to use on an open flame, gas or electric stove-top. But try to avoid alternating hot and cold, which could cause cracking.
