Handmade by a potter from Yunan, China. these teacups are made from 100% Jianshui purple clay. Purple clay ("zitao" in Chinese) has actually five colors: purple, red, white, yellow and green. And these teacups are made from naturally occurring black and yellow clay. It feels very smooth in hands. Please note that the new batch has more gray hue in color.

It’s food safe, of course. And also dishwasher safe. However, I strongly recommend that you wash and dry it by hand, and use it gently. Please do not use on an open flame, gas or electric stove-top. And try to avoid alternating hot and cold, which could cause cracking.
