2019 Plantation Silver Needle
2019 Plantation Silver Needle
After tasting and testing a variety of silver needle white tea from 2019 and considering the original sources, grades, costs, and drinking experiences, we finally chose to share this Plantation Silver Needle because of its consistent quality and classic profile.
Our 2019 Plantation Silver Needle was grown at high altitude (over 800 meters) and harvested during spring in Zheng He County, Fu Jian Province. Each tea bud was carefully hand-picked and hand-selected to select the best, healthiest buds of the harvest (local people call it "mi ya”, or "rice buds"). A skillful tea picker might only pick 1 kg of tea buds for the whole day. It takes 5 kg of tea pickings to produce 1 kg of our refined silver needle white tea. It's extremely time-consuming to make and yields a limited quantity of tea buds each spring. The picking consists of short, fuzzy, plump buds and the occasional leaf. The aroma is complex and sweet. The flavor is gentle with notes of melon and charcoal and the liquor has a soft texture. We particularly like how mellow and easy to drink this silver needle is. If you are new to silver needles, it will tell you how a class silver needle tastes like. If you are an experienced silver needle drinker, you might revisit it just like we do each year.
