Handmade and hand-painted by A Huang Jiang, a potter in Jingdezhen, China, this batch of gaiwans all have some flaws. All of the bowls of these gaiwan are slightly distorted, so the lids don't fit perfectly. You might be asking, don't you have quality control over the products you sell? Of course we do! But when we learned that these gaiwans were the last pieces the potter had and that she no longer makes new ones, we immediately got them all.

Yes, we would rather have imperfect gaiwans than have none at all! As we fell in love with each unique cute design. After carefully testing every single gaiwan, we are happy to report that they all function well! If you don't mind some aesthetic imperfections (gaps and uneven surface between the lid and the bowl), we totally recommend these.

Of course, the price for these gaiwan will be lower due to the flaws. If you recognize this potter's work and really want to collect her pieces (like we do), it’s a perfect time to get one! Each features hand drawn or painted fish, which are lucky in traditional Chinese culture.
